Change in company leadership

Gregor Langer, who has overseen the growth of RK Rose+Krieger GmbH since 2021 and further expanded the successful company concept – implementing innovative solutions in close dialogue with the customer and applying our expertise to generate added value for customers – during this time, will be leaving the company on 16 June 2023. On 1 June 2023, he will be handing over the role of RK Managing Director as well as the management of the Phoenix Mecano Group automation module division to Björn Riechers.

“It is very important for me to emphasise that I have taken this step purely for personal reasons and that the decision to leave RK Rose+Krieger and the Phoenix Mecano group was very difficult for me”, said Gregor Langer, who will be taking up a new professional challenge closer to his home town after leaving RK.

He has been the Managing Director of RK Rose+Krieger since July 2021 and has made a number of important changes to the strategic further development of the automation module division over a short period of time. For instance, together with the team, he has developed a strategic vision with a clearer distinction from the business models for the components and systems business. The components business should grow more strongly in future via the RK systems business. To implement this, he concentrated the company more strongly on the focus sectors of intralogistics and packaging technology with a “simplify and focus to grow more strongly” approach and introduced business development management in distribution. “Both the strategy and the path chosen for its implementation remain valid and will continue to be implemented under the leadership of the new Managing Director, Mr. Björn Riechers”, explains Gregor Langer.

Björn Riechers

The succession process is currently underway. Björn Riechers studied industrial engineering (mechanical engineering) at the Technical University of Berlin and will bring to the role extensive experience as a manager and consultant in the distribution, marketing, and management fields. From 2014 until 2022, he was the CEO of the LKE Group, a manufacturer of material handling solutions. Prior to that, he was a member of the Group Management at the Hoppecke Group and of the international management team at Linde Material Handling, a leading manufacturer of forklifts and warehouse equipment. Above all, at RK Rose+Krieger Björn Riechers can bring to the role his experience in international collaboration and system development and also drive forward topics such as digitalisation, sustainability and workstation ergonomics:

“Defining the target as further developing RK Rose+Krieger’s successful components business with the help of solution and system offerings chimes perfectly with my wealth of experience and I look forward to consistently continuing the path taken with RK Rose+Krieger’s outstanding global team. Being in our DNA, the component remains an important guarantor for our success. With the solutions and systems business developed and to be further expanded, we will successfully continue our growth strategy with the Phoenix Mecano Group's worldwide subsidiaries.”
