The packaging industry encompasses the manufacture of packaging for logistics and for consumer products.
At a time of increasing product diversity and decreasing batch sizes, reliable automation is crucial for a more flexible and cost-effective production process in many areas. This reduces set-up times and ensures exact repeatability.
With our modular range of over 50,000 individual components, RK Rose+Krieger offers the ideal basis for customised system solutions in the packaging industry. Everything from boundary rails on conveyor lines made from tube connectors to base frames for machines made from the BLOCAN® profile system, manual or automated format adjustment using linear units, and machine enclosures
...all from a single source!
Our product specialists will be happy to advise you on your system solution.
Sustainability is one of the most important trends in the packaging industry. Modern packaging systems must be capable of processing a wide range of materials and also handling an ever greater variety of products. Customer requirements are becoming increasingly specialised and changing ever more quickly. The result is a significant increase in version variety and dynamics, which in turn means decreasing batch sizes and increasing set-up work for format changes.
Cost-effective production of very small batches is thus a key factor. Manual set-up work and downtimes, which also occur in the case of an automated changeover, must be reduced to a minimum. Setup is an operation for format adjustment that can be done manually or automatically.
Automation specialists RK Rose+Krieger GmbH and Lenord, Bauer & Co. GmbH from Oberhausen work together to meet customer demands for fully automated infeed actuators. RK linear units and actuators from Lenord+Bauer complement each other perfectly to create an advantageous integrated package.
The actuators can be used either as stand-alone components or as a modular integrated system. RK will equip the stand-alone units with actuating drives which are connected direct to the machine control system via plug-in connectors, using the integrated field bus interface. All that is then needed to commission the linear actuator with automatic adjustment is a 24 V power supply and connection to the bus communication.
The two companies also work in close collaboration to fit complex machines with multiple linear units and a local communication unit.
An increasing variety of goods with simultaneously shorter product cycles, plus a trend towards customisation and serialisation of packaging requires flexible labelling and reading equipment (printers, labelling machines, laser markers, scanners, etc.).
RK offers a comprehensive solution with its modular system of tube connectors and linear units. This also includes stand systems that can be modified, supplemented or reused in new systems if required.
