RK Rose+Krieger has optimised its RK Duoline profile linear unit for use in cleanrooms and now offers spindle and belt-driven RK Duoline Clean linear units, with or without vacuum suction, in the popular sizes 60 and 80. A total of eight different versions passed EN ISO 14644-1 testing to be awarded cleanroom certification in the global classifications 1 (RK Duoline Clean 60 SU with 0.5 m/s vacuum suction) to 5 (RK Duoline Clean 80 Z without 0.5 m/s vacuum suction). All the requisite cleanroom suitability tests were conducted at the Fraunhofer Institute for Manufacturing Engineering and Automation (IPA) in Stuttgart.

Cleanroom axis design to the sizes 60 and 80

Cleanroom production is an essential aspect of the manufacturing process for industries such as the semi-conductor industry, photovoltaics, microelectronics, aerospace technology, not to mention the automotive industry. Naturally the requisite cleanroom classifications vary as a result.

Since cleanroom production rarely involves moving heavy loads, RK Rose+Krieger has dedicated its cleanroom axis design to the sizes 60 and 80. The result is a total of eight different linear units, each tested at three different speeds:

• RK Duoline 60 S – RK Duoline 80 S

• RK Duoline 60 SU – RK Duoline 80 SU

• RK Duoline 60 Z – RK Duoline 80 Z

• RK Duoline 60 ZU – RK Duoline 80 ZU

Duoline Clean linear units are available with either a spindle or polyurethane toothed-belt drive. In general all Duoline Clean units feature a stainless steel cover strip. Moreover, every cleanroom axis can be fitted with vacuum suction, which reduces particle emissions still further.
