Anti-vibration spindle support for linear actuators

RK Rose+Krieger offers its RK DuoLine linear actuators in sizes 60/80/120/160 with a choice of timing-belt or spindle drive. In all spindle-driven linear units, spindles which exceed a certain length lead to the spindle oscillating undesirably at high speeds, which reduces the life of the unit. For this reason, such linear actuators could only be operated at low speeds in the past.
However, limiting the unsupported spindle length as a function of its diameter eliminates this oscillation. RK Rose+Krieger has achieved this with its latest RK-Duoline S linear units with spindle drive thanks to a novel in-house development: An anti-vibration spindle support shortens the unsupported length of the spindle. Thus the RK DuoLine S even runs at 2800 rpm maintenance-free in continuous operation without any annoying vibrations, and is capable of a maximum speed of 2.4 m/s even at stroke lengths of five metres without reducing service life. Therefore at high rotational frequencies, running is considerably smoother and speed graphs are a thing of the past. "This simplifies design and planning, reduces the effort required in construction and saves time," explains Jörg Bargheer, product manager for linear technology at RK Rose+Krieger.

In addition, the spindle support has further advantages: It is maintenance- and wear-free and can be operated in any position. Positive fixation keeps the individual supports in the set position. Up to six spindle supports can be integrated on each actuator side.
