During pressing, the safety fence element is raised a little. At the highest point, the safety fence element slides downwards in the guide of the connector, snaps into place and locks securely. Once fitted, the safety fence element cannot be dismantled without tools, thereby meeting one of the main requirements of the new Machinery Directive. The present RK connectors can be replaced with the new connectors, which allow an angle compensation of +/- 5 degrees between post and safety fence element. Safety fences can therefore be easily adapted to suit the local conditions.
A special RK unlocking tool is required for subsequent dismantling of the  safety fence elements. Two of these tools are required per safety fence element. To release the connector the tools are inserted into the upper connection element from below. The safety fence element can then be removed by simply lifting it upwards and forwards. During this process, the unlocking tools remain in the connectors, which means just one person can carry out the dismantling. The system does not use fasteners, which fulfils another requirement of the Directive.
If removal respectively manipulation of the safety fence element needs to be made even more difficult, the manufacturer offers optional safety screws, which prevent the lower connector of the safety fence element from detaching.
