Tasks and activitiesIndustrial business management assistants are employed in industrial enterprises such as RK Rose+Krieger for planning, execution and control of varying commercial tasks. The industrial business management assistant’s job is very multifaceted due to varying tasks and services, as well as the size of the enterprises.
Besides the pure commercial matters, industrial business management assistants also have to cope with other challenging work. Therefore, the successful fulfilment of tasks requires technical understanding, juristic knowledge and the command of foreign languages. It is a matter of course that the usage of modern information and communication equipment is apparent.
Vocational training - Preconditions
Anybody can basically start the vocational training to become an industrial business management assistant at RK Rose+Krieger. However, the trainees should be willing to learn and perform efficiently (commercial college would be advantageous).
Usually, at RK Rose+Krieger the selection procedure is completed at about 6 -8 months before the start date of the training, i.e. applications should arrive at the company at about 12 months before the beginning of the training. The application should include at least a letter of application, a personal data sheet, copies of the last school certificates and a photograph (digital is also possible).
Duration
The duration of the vocational training for industrial business management assistants is three years required by law. Based on the applicant's educational background, the company can conclude a training agreement over the course of 2.5 years in mutual agreement with the applicant.
Contents
The main objective of the operational, educational and the inter-company vocational training is to gain the ability to make decisions and to take on responsibilities. The training regulation bindingly governs the contents that the industrial companies have to communicate during the training. They include the following subjects:

- Accounting

- Industrial business operations
- Accounting

Certificates and examinations
During the training, the trainee has to keep a record book to give evidence of formal qualification. These evidences of formal qualification allow the continuous monitoring of the training process and provide an important prerequisite and basis for the support that the company can give to the trainees.
A written intermediate examination is conducted after one year of training time at the earliest. It deals with the knowledge and the skills which are taught according to the subject matters of the framework curriculum in the first year of training. It provides the opportunity to identify the state of training and to check it. Identified learning gaps can be closed if necessary. It is mandatory to participate in the intermediate examination as it provides the admission requirement for the final examination.
The final examination at the end of the training is conducted by the local examination board of the Chamber of Industry and Commerce. The examination includes three written tests in

- Accounting, Organisation and Data Processing
- Economics and Social Studies
Company training centres
The training is conducted as a dual system, i.e. theoretical subjects are taught in the part-time vocational school and the practical training is provided in the company. Schooling is done by block instruction at RK Rose+Krieger.
Payment
The trainees are paid according to the tariffs agreed by the IG Metall union.
